Abstract

What is BS EN 61043 — Sound intensity testing instruments about?

BS EN 61043 is an international standard that discusses using electroacoustics techniques for sound intensity testing . BS EN 61043 describes the specifications to meet the requirements, where instruments are required to analyze the sound intensity in one-third octave or octave bands, and optionally to provide A-weighted band levels. They are also required to measure sound pressure levels, in addition, to sound intensity levels to facilitate the use of the field indicators described in ISO 9614-1 . BS EN 61043 only applies to instruments that detect sound intensity by pairs of spatially separated pressure sensing microphones.
