Overview
EN ISO 12402-5:2020 - "Personal flotation devices - Part 5: Buoyancy aids (level 50) - Safety requirements" is the CEN-endorsed adoption of ISO 12402-5:2020. The standard specifies safety, performance and marking requirements for buoyancy aids (performance level 50) intended for adults and children with body mass greater than 25 kg, used in sheltered waters. These buoyancy aids require active user participation and are intended where help and rescue are close at hand. One- and two-piece inherently buoyant flotation suits are designated as special application devices under ISO 12402-6:2020.
