What is PD CEN/TR 17365 - Determination of C3A in the clinker about?
Clinker is the backbone of cement production which is a mix of limestone and minerals that have been heated in a kiln and have been transformed by this heat. PD CEN/TR 17365 is a standard that discusses a method for the determination of C3A in the clinker from cement analysis. PD CEN/TR 17365 describes the analytical procedures used to determine the content of C3A in the clinker starting from a chemical analysis on cement. PD CEN/TR 17365 describes two methods, traditional wet and XRF analysis, which can be considered to be equivalent, in the scope of this CEN/TR 17365 , for the determination of Al2O3, Fe2O3 and SO3. In PD CEN/TR 17365 , the X-ray fluorescence (XRF) is the preferred method to be used for the determination of Al2O3, Fe2O3 and SO3.
