BS 7254-5 is the fifth part of the multi-part series that outlines the requirements to produce castings made of cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy for use in the manufacture of surgical implants and ensures that necessary quality standards for castings made of cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy are achieved. BS 7254-5 applies to castings produced by a subcontractor and dispatched to an implant manufacturer and castings produced by an implant manufacturer’s foundry for conversion into finished implants by the same manufacturer.
