What is BS 7455-7 – Nickel alloys about?
BS 7455-7 standard is a part of the BS 7455 series that discusses the method for the determination of aluminum for analysis of nickel alloys by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Nickel alloys containing 72-83% nickel have the best soft magnetic properties and are used in transformers, inductors, magnetic amplifiers, magnetic shields and memory storage devices.
BS 7455-7 applies a flame atomic absorption spectrometric method for the determination of aluminum in the range of 0,2 % (m/m) to 4 % (m/m) in nickel alloys. The general requirements concerning the apparatus, sampling, dissolution of the test sample, atomic absorption measurements, calculations and test report are given in ISO 7530-1 .
