What is BS 7455-9 – Flame atomic absorption spectrometry about?
BS 7455-9 is a British standard and a part of the BS 7455 series that discusses the method for determination of vanadium for analysis of nickel alloys by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Flame atomic absorption is a very common technique for detecting metals and metalloids in environmental samples.
BS 7455-9 specifies a flame atomic absorption spectrometric method for the determination of vanadium in the range of 0,05 % (m/m) to 1 % (m/m) in nickel alloys. The general requirements concerning the apparatus, sampling, dissolution of the test sample, atomic absorption measurements, calculations and test report are given in ISO 7530-1 .
