BS EN 13124-1 is the first part of a two-part series that discusses test methods for determining the explosion resistance of windows, doors and shutters.
BS EN 13124-1 describes a method of test against blast waves generated by using a shock tube facility to simulate a high explosive detonation in the order of 100 kg to 2500 kg TNT at distances from about 35 m to 50 m.
BS EN 13124-1 covers only the behaviour of the complete unit including infill, frame and fixings as tested.
