BS EN 478 is an international standard used for plastics that specifies the test method and test procedures which helps in determining the appearance of Poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) based profiles after heated at 150 °C. BS EN 478 specifies a method for determining the effect of heat on unplasticized poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) profiles, to be carried out in air at 150 °C. BS EN 478 is also applicable to PVC-based profiles at specified temperatures/test conditions.
