Abstract

What is BS EN 60384-23 - S ectional specification of fixed capacitors about?

Capacitors have varied applications like energy storage, power conditioning, electronic noise filtering, signal coupling or decoupling, and remote sensing. BS EN 60384-23 applies to fixed surface mount capacitors for direct current, with metalized electrodes and polyethylene naphthalate dielectric for use in electronic equipment. These capacitors have metallized connecting pads or soldering strips and are intended to be mounted directly onto substrates for hybrid circuits or onto printed boards. The capacitors mentioned in BS EN 60384-23 may have "self-healing properties" depending on the conditions of use.
