BS EN 61375-2-5 is a part of an international multi-series standard that discusses train communication network systems (TCN). BS EN 61375-2-5 defines Ethernet Train Backbone (ETB) requirements to fulfil open train data communication system based on Ethernet technology. BS EN 61375-2-5 stipulates the technical specifications such as related terms and definitions, conventions, Ethernet Train Backbone (ETB) physical layer, ETB data link layer, ETB network layer: IPv4 subnets definition, ETB Transport layer, ETB Train Inauguration: TTDP, ETB ETBN redundancy, ETB physical train naming convention, ETB Quality of Service, ETB Management and monitoring, ETB Application interface, ETB conformity statement, etc. Note 1 : BS EN 61375-2-5 may be additionally applicable to closed trains and multiple-unit trains when so agreed between purchaser and supplier. Note 2 : The PICS proforma specification and the related conformity test are not in the scope of BS EN 61375-2-5 .
