Plasma televisions were the first large flat panel displays released to the public. BS EN 61988-2-1 is a part of an international multi-series standard that focuses on aspects of plasma display panels ( PDP) . BS EN 61988-2-1 determines the measuring methods for characterizing the performance of PDP modules. BS EN 61988-2-1 includes 4% window luminance, luminance uniformity, dark-room contrast ratio, bright-room contrast ratio 100/70, white chromaticity and chromatic uniformity, colour gamut in the centre box, module power and current consumption, module power consumption using video signal, module luminous efficacy and panel luminous efficacy.
