The sack is made of polyethylene film suitable for bulk packaging for smaller volumes. Polyethylene has good weldability, making welds a good seal. BS EN 787 specifies the general characteristics, requirements and methods of test for sacks made of polyethylene film. BS EN 787 applies to sacks made of polyethylene film with a net filling weight up to 2000 g for packing and transporting foodstuffs for food aid and to polyethylene film sacks with a net filling weight up to 1 000 g supplied as empty sacks together with foodstuffs packed in sacks for the distribution of small quantities. Note: The packaging surrounding filled sacks is not covered by BS EN 787 .
