Overview
EN ISO 1089:2023 / ISO 1089:2023 specifies the dimensions and tolerances of electrode taper fits used in resistance spot welding equipment. Published by ISO and adopted by CEN as EN ISO 1089:2023 (July 2023), it replaces earlier editions (EN 21089:1991, ISO 1089:1980) and defines standard mechanical interfaces between electrodes, electrode caps, adapters and holders to ensure interchangeability and safe, repeatable performance in spot welding systems.
