Overview

EN ISO 11689:1996 - "Acoustics - Procedure for the comparison of noise-emission data for machinery and equipment (ISO 11689:1996)" specifies methods and requirements to compare noise-emission data so noise-control performance can be determined for a family, type or group of machines. The standard defines which noise quantities to use (for example A‑weighted sound power LWA, A‑weighted emission sound pressure LpA, and C‑weighted peak Lpc,peak), how to collect representative data, present results, and evaluate them using statistical techniques (notably L‑lines and linear regression).
