Overview
EN ISO 14083:2023 (EN ISO 14083:2023 / ISO 14083:2023) provides a common methodology for the quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from transport chain operations for both passengers and freight. Endorsed by CEN and superseding EN 16258:2012, the standard covers all transport modes (air, sea, inland waterway, road, rail, pipelines, ropeways/cable cars) and explicitly includes hub operations (e.g., ports, terminals, airports) and pipeline transport in system boundaries.
