- For design categories A, B and C a bilge pumping system shall be:
- Permanently attached to boat structure.
- Activated at a location in the vicinity of, and readily accessible from, the main steering position.
- Fore and aft peak tanks need not be linked to the bilge system when their combined volume is within the specified percentage of vessel displacement (as stated in the standard).
- Electrical and hull outlet requirements
- Electric pumps must comply with ISO 8849:2020.
- Electrical installations must meet ISO 13297:2020 and its Amendment 1:2022.
- Hull discharge outlets shall be above the heeled waterline unless fitted with a seacock in accordance with ISO 9093:2020 and a means to prevent backflow.
