EN ISO 3167:2014 - Plastics: Multipurpose test specimens (ISO 3167:2014) defines requirements for multipurpose test specimens used with plastic moulding materials processed by injection moulding or direct compression moulding. The standard specifies preferred specimen geometries (notably type A and type B tensile specimens), dimensions, preparation, machining, marking and reporting so that a single moulding can yield specimens suitable for a range of mechanical tests. Using multipurpose specimens improves comparability of measured properties by ensuring specimens are in the same processed state.
