IEC 62300:2004 defines a standardized digital interface for consumer audio/video equipment that uses plastic optical fibre (POF). It specifies the principal electrical and optical parameters for a POF-based consumer AV digital link - including transmitter/receiver requirements, link budget, physical fibre and connector characteristics, and basic safety checks.
