Overview
IEC 62453-309:2022 - "Field device tool (FDT) interface specification - Part 309: Communication profile integration – IEC 61784 CPF 9" provides guidance for integrating HART® (CPF 9) communication profiles into the FDT framework (IEC 62453-2). It defines the communication and supporting services required for FDT Device Type Managers (DTMs) and hosts to work with HART Basic and Extended HART protocols (based on IEC 61158-5-20 and IEC 61158-6-20). This part does not contain or modify the FDT specification itself; it describes how to map HART protocol behaviour, addressing and data types into the FDT model. Edition 3.0 (2022) is a technical revision that clarifies device data access and support for protocol versions.
