Overview
IEC 62841-4-5:2021 is the international safety standard that defines particular requirements for grass shears - electric motor‑operated hand‑held tools, transportable tools and lawn and garden machinery with a maximum cutting width of 200 mm designed primarily for cutting grass. Published by the IEC (Edition 1.0, 2021-08) with the January 2024 corrigendum incorporated, this document supplements and modifies the general rules in IEC 62841-1:2014 to produce requirements specific to grass shears. It explicitly excludes hedge trimmers (see IEC 62841-4-2).
