ISO 1017:2025 specifies a laboratory method to determine the mass fraction of acetone-soluble material (described as the "resinous substance") in the benzene-soluble extract from brown coals and lignites. The method is intended for routine analysis and comparative evaluation of benzene-extract fractions prepared according to ISO 975. Note that the acetone extract can also include a fraction of wax dissolved simultaneously with the resinous substance.
