ISO 10307-1:2009 - "Petroleum products - Total sediment in residual fuel oils - Part 1: Determination by hot filtration" specifies a laboratory test method for determining total sediment in residual fuel oils (maximum viscosity 55 mm2/s at 100 °C) and in distillate fuels containing residual components. The method uses a hot filtration procedure at ~100 °C with solvent washing and gravimetric weighing of glass‑fibre filters. Results are reported as percentage by mass (% m/m) and the test is performed in duplicate.
