Overview

ISO 13609:2021 - Wood-based panels - Plywood - Blockboards and battenboards specifies requirements for blockboards and battenboards intended for general use in dry, tropic dry/humid, and high-humid/exterior conditions. The standard covers materials, panel lay-up, physical and mechanical properties, bonding quality, formaldehyde release, conformity verification, marking and identification. Note: values in the standard relate to product properties and are not characteristic values for structural design calculations.

- Veneer thickness: 0.55 mm to 6.0 mm; veneers adjacent to the core ≥ 1.5 mm.
- Any wood species or other lignocellulosic materials permitted; veneers must be identified by species/group.

Plywood
- Plywood used for face/back layers: thickness ≥ 3.0 mm; surface appearance controlled; no jointed plywood for surface layers.

- Battenboard strip width: **30 mm
