La présente Norme internationale spécifie une méthode pour la détermination de la teneur en sédiment dans des corps gras bruts susceptibles d'être séparés par la force centrifuge. Cette méthode est applicable aux corps gras bruts, ainsi qu'aux corps gras obtenus par extraction et/ou pression, dont la teneur en sédiment est comprise entre 0,03 ml par 100 g et 15 ml par 100 g. Cette méthode n'est pas applicable aux corps gras non liquides à une température de 20°C.

Abstract

Overview

ISO 15301:2001 specifies a rapid centrifuge method for the determination of sediment in crude animal and vegetable fats and oils. The method measures the volume of insoluble material that can be separated by centrifugal force and is applicable to crude oils (including oils from extraction and crushing) with sediment contents from 0.03 ml/100 g to 15 ml/100 g. It is not applicable to fats that are solid at 20 °C.

- Record centrifuge speed/acceleration (or swing diameter), and temperature before and after centrifuging.
Calculation and reporting:
- Sediment content w (ml/100 g) is calculated using the formula provided in the standard (based on sediment volume V and tube masses).
- Report mean of two tubes to the nearest 1 ml/100 g and include all test conditions in the report.

- Repeatability and reproducibility limits are provided (e.g., for sediment
