Overview
ISO 17892-11:2019 - "Geotechnical investigation and testing - Laboratory testing of soil - Part 11: Permeability tests" specifies internationally harmonized laboratory methods to determine water flow characteristics and the coefficient of permeability (k) of soils. The standard covers test apparatus, specimen preparation, measurement procedures (constant head, falling head and constant flow), data reduction and reporting. Tests are based on Darcy’s law for laminar, saturated flow and are applicable to undisturbed, re‑moulded, compacted or reconstituted soil specimens.
