Overview
ISO 18538:2015 - Traceability of molluscan products specifies the information to be recorded in farmed molluscs supply chains (excluding cephalopods) to establish product traceability from farm to retailer or caterer. The standard defines how molluscan products traded for human consumption are to be identified, what information each food business must generate and retain, and how trade units and logistic units should be managed. It is applicable to the full distribution chain for farmed mussels, oysters, scallops, clams, cockles and abalone (farm, hatchery, depuration, processing, transport, wholesale, retail, catering and feed production).
