Overview
ISO 4269:2001 specifies an incremental tank calibration method using volumetric meters for petroleum and liquid petroleum products. The method calibrates tank capacity by adding successive batches of liquid (water or suitable petroleum product) as a volume-transfer medium, with the delivered volume measured accurately by a volumetric meter. This International Standard is intended for practical field calibration of storage tanks, not for calibrating reference measuring instruments, proving tanks, or meter provers.
