ISO 7992:2022 specifies a laboratory method to evaluate the structural stability (reduction under load) of iron ores intended as blast furnace feedstocks. The test simulates conditions in the blast-furnace reduction zone by isothermally reducing a fixed bed of ore at 1 050 °C under a static load, and measuring the mechanical and permeability changes at 80% degree of reduction.
