Overview
ISO 8028:2024 specifies requirements for rubber and/or plastics hoses and hose assemblies for airless paint spraying. The fourth edition defines four hose types (A, B, C, D) that differ by working/burst pressure and operating temperature, and covers materials, construction, testing, marking, packaging and storage for hoses used with solvent-containing paints.

- Electrical continuity per ISO 8031 - assemblies must meet the standard’s resistance limit (see ISO 8031)
- Adhesion per ISO 8033 - minimum adhesion values for lining/cover to reinforcement (0.8–0.9 kN/m depending on ID)
- UV (plastic covers) and ozone (rubber covers) resistance tests (ISO 30013, ISO 7326)
- Lining chemical compatibility per ISO 1817 with defined maximum volume swell for solvents (toluene, acetone, ethanol, white spirit, dioctylphthalate)
- Quality, testing frequency and documentation
- Type and routine test schedules defined (Annex A); manufacturers must test after design or material/process changes
- Test reports and durable marking (manufacturer, ISO 8028, type, working pressure, max temp, ID, conductivity indicator, manufacture date/lot) required
