Overview
ISO 9005:2007 specifies an analytical amperometric method for determining the oxygen/uranium atomic ratio (O/U) in uranium dioxide (UO2) powder and sintered pellets used in nuclear energy. The standard applies to reactor-grade, hyper-stoichiometric UO2. It defines sample preparation, reagents, apparatus, dissolution and titration procedures, endpoint detection, calculation of the O/U ratio and reporting requirements.
