Overview
ISO/IEC 15045-2:2012 - “Information technology - Home Electronic System (HES) gateway - Part 2: Modularity and protocol” defines a modular gateway architecture and protocol framework to interconnect one or more Wide Area Networks (WANs) with one or more Home Area Networks (HANs). The standard targets distributed gateways (also called the Complex Modular Gateway) and is not required for a simple single-WAN-to-single-HAN gateway with no planned expansion. It also specifies how multiple gateways in the same dwelling can interoperate to deliver coordinated services.
