ISO/IEC 29341-3-12:2008 (UPnP Audio/Video Device Control Protocol - Content Directory Service) defines a standardized Content Directory Service (CDS) for UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) AV devices. The standard establishes a model, actions, state variables and XML service descriptions that let devices expose and access multimedia content (music, video, images) on peer-to-peer, ad‑hoc or unmanaged networks in homes, small businesses and public spaces.
