Abstract

Overview

ISO/TS 17430:2025 - "Patient compartment of negative pressure ambulance - Technical specifications" defines terms, technical requirements and test methods for the patient compartment of ambulances equipped with a negative pressure system. The Technical Specification focuses on infection control features specific to transporting patients with respiratory infectious diseases, including sealing, negative pressure performance, ventilation rate, directional airflow, filtration and disinfection systems.

- Patient compartment must include an automatic/timed disinfection function.
- Spray disinfection: atomized liquid must be non-toxic and achieve a microbial log reduction of ≥ 3.00.
- Ozone sterilization (if used) must be able to provide ≥ 60 mg/m3 inside the negative pressure system and support timed cycles ≥ 60 minutes.
