What is PD CEN/TS 17184 - 112 eCall IMS about?
The ability to reach help on time is a vital factor during a crash. The 112-eCall system in the vehicle contacts the 112 emergency services, establishes a wireless telephone connection and immediately provides the public service answering point (PSAP) with a minimum set of data that identifies the vehicle, location of the crash, the direction of travel, and may provide additional relevant data. It may also provide the number of passengers, other vehicles and incident-related data.
In respect of 112-eCall, PD CEN/TS 17184 defines the high-level application protocols (HLAP), procedures and processes required to provide the eCall service via a packet-switched wireless communications network using IMS (Internet Protocol Multimedia System) and LTE/ 4G/E-UTRAN wireless access.
