What is PD IEC/TR 61850-90-2 – Power utility automation about? PD IEC/TR 61850-90-2 is an international standard and a part of the PD IEC/TR 61850 series that discusses communication between substations and control centres for power utility automation. An integrated Distribution Automation system enables Indian power utilities to have real-time control over the costly energy sold. PD IEC/TR 61850-90-2 provides a comprehensive overview of the different aspects that need to be considered while using IEC 61850 for information exchange between substations and control or maintenance centres or other system-level applications.
