ISO/TS 22002 discusses prerequisite programs on food safety. ISO/TS 22002‑5 is an international standard on prerequisite programs for transport and storage to ensure the safety of food. ISO/TS 22002‑5 is the fifth part of a multi-part series that specifies requirements for establishing, implementing, and maintaining prerequisite programs (PRPs) for transport and storage in the food chain to assist in controlling food safety hazards. ISO/TS 22002‑5 applies to all organizations, regardless of size or complexity, that are involved in transport and storage activities across the food supply chain and that wish to implement PRPs in such a way as to address the requirements specified in ISO 22000. ISO/TS 22002‑5 also includes all food and feed products and food packaging and packaging materials. Note: Live animals are excluded from the scope of ISO/TS 22002‑5 except when intended for direct consumption, e.g., mollusks, crustaceans, and live fish.
