EN ISO 9311-2:2011 (ISO 9311-2:2011) defines a standardized laboratory method to determine the shear strength of joints bonded with adhesives for thermoplastic piping systems. - Shear strength Fs (MPa) = F / (π · d · l), where F = failure force (N), d = internal diameter of fitting (mm), l = joint length (mm).
- Report individual results, arithmetic mean of five assemblies; do not discard results without documented justification.
- Safety/environment: Follow normal lab safety practice; dispose of wastes per local regulation. The standard notes some materials may have environmental impacts.
