Overview
ISO 304:1985 specifies a standardized laboratory method to determine the surface tension of liquids and solutions of surface active agents (surfactants) by drawing up liquid films. The method measures the maximum vertical force required to detach a plate, stirrup or ring from a liquid surface (or to draw up a film on a plate edge) and converts that force to surface tension in millinewtons per metre (mN/m).
