Overview
EN ISO 9016:2022 (ISO 9016:2022) defines how to describe test specimen location, notch orientation, and examination/reporting for Charpy-type impact tests on welded butt joints in metallic materials. It is applicable to materials in all product forms and to fusion and pressure welding processes. EN ISO 9016:2022 is intended to be used in addition to the ISO 148 series (Charpy pendulum tests) and supersedes the 2012 edition.

- Type and dimensions of any observed imperfections
- Sketch when necessary
- Any other application-standard or contractual information
