Overview

ISO 4586-1:2018 is the introductory part of the ISO 4586 series for high-pressure decorative laminates (HPL, HPDL) - sheets made from layers of cellulosic fibres (typically paper) impregnated with thermosetting resins. This part provides general information, definitions and guidance for selecting and applying the test methods and specifications given in ISO 4586‑2 to ISO 4586‑8. It also harmonizes where possible with EN 438‑1 and includes hygienic, health and safety guidance for interior use.
